This is going to be a pretty short dry post about something very non-exciting if you read the title you can presume it is the background check –yay! Yes, I know there is no way to make this exciting at all, so bare with me here since it is going to come up during the process.
What is the background check?
Well, pretty much like any other job they have to make sure you are not insane –just kidding. Seriously, though it is a standard background check for employment, criminal history, and all that generic boring stuff.
Background check = Offer?
No, let’s be clear it does not mean you get an offer although it is a good sign since it is one of the last steps prior to the actual offer aka the ‘brief phone call’ invite.
Can I dispute my background check?
I know some people are thinking –what, why? Well if you manage to not match your employment dates, or forget to mention something to them you will have trouble with the background check. The most common reasons doe disputing is employment history dates do not match, and my suggestion is call Casting (FAQ section has the number) to get the issue resolved.
Does Disney do the background checks?
No, they do not it is actually done by a third party.
If I currently work for Disney do I need to do it?
Most of the time if you are a current employee with the Company there is no need for this step since you had to pass one in order to be hired. You may get one though if you are coming from a different segment such as the Disney Store’s.
What is ‘Application DWS Pro Intern FL v2’ (state abbreviation varies depending on location)?
Well this is the title of the email for the background check you are going to fill out, and yes since someone as asked before –if you do not fill it out you basically NLICed yourself. In this email you are releasing your records for checking, giving Disney consent to fingerprint you when you arrive, and drug testing if needed for your role.
I told you this was going to be a very unexciting post, but this for some reasons gets a lot of questions that I feel I just should address now.
